Sixth Round of WordCamp Speakers Announced

WordCamp Miami is happy to announce the next wave of approved and confirmed speakers for WordCamp Miami 2015.

Chrissie Scelsi

Chrissie Scelsi is the principal of Scelsi Entertainment and New Media Law with offices in Orlando and Port Charlotte, Florida, where she focuses her practice on entertainment, intellectual property, internet, technology, and business law. Ms. Scelsi has been named as one of the top eight Central Florida attorneys with Twitterati status by the Orlando Business Journal based on number of followers for her @punklawyer handle. Ms. Scelsi received her B.B.A. in marketing from Loyola University New Orleans, a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law, and a LL.M. in entertainment and media law from Southwestern School of Law.

 

Taylor Lovett

Taylor Lovett is the Director of Engineering at 10up, one of the biggest WordPress centric agencies in the world. Having been involved with WordPress since 2007, he has contributed to WordPress core, authored popular plugins (downloaded hundreds of thousands of times), ND spoken at many conferences across multiple continents. He is a lover of all things open-source. Other than developing web applications, Taylor is a lover of music. He enjoys listening to blues and jazz music as well as playing acoustic fingerstyle guitar.

 

Dan Beil

Dan, hailing from Minneapolis, MN, has been a WordPress developer since 2009, focusing on front-end responsive code and clean admin interfaces. Prior to joining Alley Interactive, he worked on a large multi-site e-commerce WordPress install as an in-house developer at Blue Earth Interactive, and freelanced for four years prior to being at Blue Earth. Dan is a regular at Minneapolis meetups, and when he’s not in front of a screen he spends his time with his Siberian Huskies.

 

Ibis Arrastia

Ibis is an out-of-the-box thinker with more than two decades of software development experience, with an emphasis in eCommerce and web development. As the Miami Chapter Leader for the nationwide non-profit, Girl Develop It, Ibis volunteers her time to inspire women to see the greatness within them and mentor them as they start a career or transition into a career in computer science. She is most determined to make a difference in the lives of women in Miami, lead a movement to grow the numbers of local women in IT, and play an active role in increasing the Miami software development workforce.

 

David Hayes

David is part of the team at WPShout, a premier source of WordPress tutorials, news, and more on the internet. He’s a developer who does a lot of intensive backend server work with PHP and more, along with a fair bit of JavaScript, and small helping of CSS. He likes to ride his bicycle at home in Colorado.

 

Steve Burge

“I’m from England, but met a lady from New Jersey in Thailand, lived with her in Japan and Australia, got married in north Georgia and now love in Florida. I can confirm that it’s definitely sunnier here than where I came from”. Steve is the CEO of OSTraining. He wrote the best-selling Drupal and Joomla books and is working on a WordPress edition.
