If you are a student or teach of Miami Dade College, then you should definitely check out WordCamp Miami. This event is happening March 16-18th at FIU Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) in Miami, FL.

What is WordCamp Miami?

WordCamp Miami is one among many WordCamps that happen around the world each year. WordCamp Miami 2018 is the TENTH year in a row for us – we started with a little over 200 attendees and we’ve recently broken 850. Great for:

  • Bloggers / Writers
  • Web Designers
  • Developers / Coders
  • Front-End Developers
  • WordPress Users
  • Online Store Owners
  • Online Marketers
  • Freelancers
  • Students / Kids
  • Teachers

Word of warning: we sell out EVERY year. If you have questions, reach out to us. But grab tickets while they are available.

Best Reasons To Come:

– We talk about WordPress but alot of our talks focus on general subjects (like freelancing, web security, marketing, and design) or talking about subjects that can apply to almost any development project you are coding (like HTML or JavaScript).

It’s affordable. 70 speakers, workshops, a “help bar” to get help w/ your website, lunch, snack, t-shirts, networking events, after party (with more food)… all for $40 for weekend tickets ($15 for workshops). If you are a student and help volunteer, your ticket might cost even less.

Networking And Meeting People: WordCamp Miami, like many other WordCamps, bring in a variety of people. Many of these are looking for work, looking to hire, or just looking to meet with interesting people. With a family friendly atmosphere, many people come from around the country and the globe to attend WCMIA each year. Many of these are people that work for hosting companies or are plugin developers that you probably already know by name.

Great For Users And Bloggers: You don’t have to be a developer, coder, or WordPress professional. You can be using WordPress for the first time, or just trying to figure out how to better your own business or website. You can find out how to use social media or content marketing to make your business better – and talk with people that have made it work for themselves.

Bring the kids. We have activities for kids both Saturday and Sunday (for young ones and older teens).

What Might Particularly Interest Someone from Miami Dade College?

Our beginner’s track. Invest $15 and a day of your time, and you’ll learn how to work WordPress. WordPress powers 29% of the web – one of the many reasons you should be familiar with it.
